WHO CAN VOTE – For the December 8th Special State Primary, only those voters enrolled in a political party or Unenrolled (U) voters may voteA person registered in a political designation is not eligible to vote in a party primary.  There are currently 3 political parties in Massachusetts:  Democratic (D), Republican (R) and Libertarian (L).  A voter enrolled in a political party may only vote in that party’s primary.  For example, if a voter is registered as a Democrat, they may only receive a Democratic ballot.  A voter registered as Unenrolled may vote in any primary.  When appearing at the polls to vote, the Unenrolled voter must declare which party ballot they want to receive.  Pursuant to the Help America Vote Act, certain voters will be required to present identification at the Special State Primary so we encourage all voters to bring id to the polls.

ABSENTEE VOTERS - Absentee ballot applications are now being accepted for the Special State Primary.  Registered voters can vote by absentee ballot for the following reasons onlyabsence from the town during the hours the polls are open, physical disability, or religious beliefs which prevent voting at the polls on Election Day.

If you are unsure about the status of your voter registration, please call the Town Clerk’s office, 623-8934 x11, so that we can assist you.
