Welcome to the Town of Becket's website - a tool we hope we can use effectively to communicate with those who live in and visit Becket, and that you can use to find out what is happening at Town Hall and beyond.
Communicating what is new in Town Hall and with your local government is always difficult in a small town - although the grapevine may be effective it is not always accurate! We hope you will turn to our website for updates and information, and we welcome your input and comments as well. You can use the <Send Us Comments> link on the home page to do so.
Some recent changes to the website itself:
- On the Home Page, the right hand column entitled <Upcoming Meetings & Events> has been expanded to show more of the things that are coming up - you can still find more detail by clicking on the "MORE" just below.
- Go to <Boards & Commissions> and then to the <Board of Selecmen> link, and you will see a new area at the bottom of the page where upcoming items and issues are listed - it will give you a heads up about the things that will be on the agenda for an upcoming meeting.
- We have added a <Procurement> link to the Home Page. It will be one place that we advertise for goods and services that we are buying for the Town and also a place where we will list items that we are selling - surplus property, auctions of tax title land etc. It will allow us to provide far broader notice of these items than depending solely on the local print media.
